Is your Site Categorized Correctly?

Does Google know what you do? Are you sure that google puts your site in the right category? This is an important question and we are going to show you how to make sure.

if google puts your website in a category that doesnt relate to the niche that you are in, it is going to be very hard to rank well for your keywords. To find out how google categorizes your site perform a search for the following query:

related:www.hitbrandconsulting.com
(where your site is the domian name listed after the related:)

If the sites that show up are related to your niche than you are on the right page. If the website is about something different than we have more to talk about here. Contact me and we can talk for free on how to get your site fixed.

So why would Google put you in the right category? I mean… common its pretty clear, there is a big picture of a tennis racket on your homepage, they should know its a site about tennis rackets right? Remember that amazing google is trully amazing, however it still is jsut a machine. You must give Google hints to understand what it is you do. You can do this by using alt-image tags on images, using the correct headers, titles and descriptions on your pages and using a good link structure.

How Many Characters In A Title Tag For Best SEO With Google?

This is a question we get asked alot, and for good reason! Google offers heavy emphasis to these title tags and you can increase your chances of good ranking by following some simple rules:

Through testing we know that Google will show up to 70 characters (including spaces) in the title tags. Its best to keep your Keywords in the first 50-55 characters. Once you get over 70 characters, Google will start chopping up your title tag into what it thinks is the most important info.

Think Outside Of The Box In Internet Marketing

A popular website List-of-domains.org posts a daily list of newly registered domain names. On April 28 2010 there were 102,000 new registered domain names. In one single day there were over one hundred thousand people that said “I want to create a website!” How many of these sites wanted to make money from the Internet? That figure is a bit harder to know at this time but briefly looking over the list showed that many, many of them had names that could be geared towards generating income. With 100K new websites a day coming online, how is your business going to stand out? Are you going to do on page SEO? Pay Per Click AdWords? Link Building? Article Marketing? Its safe to say that it is going to take alot more than just using 1 or two of the techniques to help your site get found on the net. Lets talk about some ways that you can think outside of the box in your Internet marketing campaign to gain viral traffic.

  • Offer Something Free – Post it everywhere!
  • Create a press release on something outrageous
  • Video Tape your self jumping out of a plane with your logo on your shirt. (better yet have a pretty girl do it for you)
  • Get On TV
  • Advertise on a radio station in an interesting way
  • Get out of your comfort zone
  • Wrap your vehicle on decals and stickers (how many thousands of people see your car each day?)
  • Be unique
  • Ask friends to give you ideas
  • Dont be just like the next guy (or girl)
  • Your idea Here

Remember that thinking outside of the box is to think differantly than others do. Think of your problem (your need to reach new clients) from a new perspective, in new creative ways. The coined term “Thinking outside of the box” has been around since the 1960’s but the message is still ironically exactly the same.

Link HTML

Everytime I create an article in a directory for on of our clients I end of doing a search for link html or html link. I memorized the structure buts its jsut easier for my to copy and paste the code, then to type it in myself. Use this post as a referance on how to create a link for html.

Links and Hyperlinks

In web terms, a hyperlink is a reference point (an address) to another resource on the web.

Hyperlinks can point to any resource on the web like an HTML page, any image, any sound file or a movie.

An HTML Link

Google Adwords Ads Now Accept CPA

In an exciting new announcement Google will not allow you to bid on adwords using the popular Cost Per Acquisition (CPA). This will help increase profit as costs will only be incurred on actual sales. This is an awesome new feature from Adwors!! See the full story from Google here:

What is the new Bid Type advanced option of Conversion Optimizer (Target CPA and Max CPA)?

With the Bid Type option, you can select the method that suits you best when setting your Conversion Optimizer bids.

Target CPA

This new option allows you to bid based on the average amount you would like to pay for a conversion. For example, if you want to achieve an average CPA of $25, you could use this option and set your bid to be $25. Advertisers with CPA targets they would like to reach may prefer to use Target CPA so they can specify those goals directly.

Max CPA

With this option (previously the only option offered with Conversion Optimizer), you set bids using a Max. CPA. This amount represents the most you would want to pay for any individual conversion. The way a Max. CPA bid works is similar to the way a Max. CPC bid works. If you set a Max. CPA bid of $5, for example, the actual average CPA is likely to be somewhat less, such as $3. Likewise, a Max. CPC bid of $0.50 may result in an average CPC of $0.30.To change your bid type to Target CPA, please follow these instructions:

  1. Select the Settings tab from within your Campaigns tab.
  2. Under the “Bidding and budget” section, click Edit to change your bidding option.
  3. Click Focus on conversions (Conversion Optimizer).
  4. Expand the + Advanced options section and select Target CPA.
  5. Click Save to finish.
